Understanding the THC Distillate Process

A new substance that is gaining popularity in the wellness market is THC distillate. It is a highly-concentrated preparation used for recreational and medical purposes. Many brands use cannabis, marijuana, THC distillate equipment to produce products with potency levels of up to 99%.

Such equipment is installed in a highly professional, controlled laboratory setting. It involves several levels of extraction and purification to extract potent end-product.

Distillate uses

These products have a wide range of uses in the consumer market. Patients with qualifying conditions can consume them in many ways. The most popular ones include:

Dabs

The highly-refined cannabis concentrate is available in dabs. It can be used in the same way as wax, shatters, and bubble hashes. However, people should only start with a small amount due to the potency levels.

Vaping

In this type, individuals can use distillate from a vape pen or vaporizer. It is one of the cleanest ways to vape with cannabis than butane has oil. There are a number of dab-free ways to consume CBD as well.

Tinctures

Some may prefer to use tinctures for treatments. This method involves placing the cannabinoids under the tongue. Moreover, THC distillates are also used in many edibles and products.

Steps to follow

The first step involves separating the resinous trichomes from the cannabis plant material. This type of extraction is performed in either physical or chemical methods. Sieving is a process of physically separating the particles. Using butane as a chemical-based solvent will also help to extract cannabis oils.

Winterization further purifies the cannabis concentrate by separating cannabinoids and terpenes. It also helps to remove fats, waxes, lipids, and other impurities from the concentrate.

After winterization, the decarboxylation refinement process is performed. This step removes carboxylic acid from the cannabinoids to ensure strong psychoactive effects. Lastly, the isolate is separated from the rest of the extract.
